Poetry Competition

Deadline: Week of Monday 13th November.

Task: Write and decorate a poem based on the idea/theme of "FREEDOM".

Your English teachers have chosen the theme 'FREEDOM' because it is the same theme that the UK's National Poetry Day celebrated this year!

Notes:
Poems should be decorated on paper/cardboard etc anything that can be placed on the metal grids in the corridor of the first floor.  In other words: no artifact that requires a table, a plug or even should stand on the floor ...

Both teachers and students will judge your work. The winners will be announced (and rewarded) at the Christmas Party!

Let's consider what is required when acting a " Comedy of Manners ."  The Oxford Dictionary has this to say about the Comedy of Manners: A kind of comedy representing the complex and sophisticated code of behaviour current in fashionable circles of society, where appearances count for more than true moral character. Its plot usually revolves around intrigues of lust and greed, the self-interested cynicism of the characters being masked by decorous pretence.
